INTERACTIVES
The Histologist
THE HISTOLOGIST is an educational desktop game intended to teach beginner histology students or individuals of an undergraduate level about six common histology stains – hematoxylin and eosin (H&E), azan, wright’s, toulaine blue, cresyl violet, and phosphotungstic acid haematoxylin (PTAH) – by likening the process of staining to that of potions and elixirs.

HARMOKNEE
HARMOKNEE teaches users about the muscles responsible for flexing the knee as well as the contents of the popliteal fossa. The didactic app presents a 3D model of a knee joint with bones, muscles, and vessels that the user can click on to retrieve more information. Depending on the type of anatomical structure, a 2D animation can showcase the movement of the respective muscle selected or a 2D vector illustration will demonstrate the anatomical relationship of the structure to others.

NeuroHero
As part of the Vesalius Trust-a-Thon, I participated as part of a seven person team (awarded first) to create a game within 2 weeks. This story follows Nexus, a fibroblast, living in Armlandia, a region of the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS). Within the game, you can help Nexus guide axon regeneration after a 3rd degree neurotmesis injury!
Cranial Corral
This pixel art plat-former game is a prototype intending to teach medical students about the cranial nerve fiber types in a novel way. Created for graduate research, my focus in the project was on the design of visual and audible design elements targeting short-term recall.
