HarmoKnee

Project Summary

HarmoKnee teaches users about the muscles responsible for flexing the knee as well as the contents of the popliteal fossa. The didactic app  presents a 3D model of a knee joint with bones, muscles, and vessels that the user can click on to retrieve more information. Depending on the type of anatomical structure, a 2D animation can showcase the movement of the respective muscle selected or a 2D vector illustration will demonstrate the anatomical relationship of the structure to others.

Objectives (As Project Director)

  • Establish learning goals for interactive and create GDD.

  • Research muscles involved in knee flexion as well as the arteries, veins and nerves that course through the popliteal fossa.

  • Write summaries for each anatomical component that corresponded with the established learning goals.

  • Spearhead audio sourcing and implementation.

  • Oversee app production and overall team communication.

Watch game trailer below.

  • Know the names of the thigh and leg muscles involved in knee flexion.

  • Learn the shapes and sizes of the muscles as well as their relationships anatomically.

  • Identify the location of the popliteal fossa and recognize its structural boundaries.

  • Distinguish the contents of the popliteal fossa and their relation to one another.

  • Recognize the bones that serve as muscle attachments.

  • Understand the structural relationship between the vessels and the bones.
